Burwood Restaurant
Located within the vibrant Burwood One shopping centre, this restaurant project required a thoughtful approach to creating a distinct dining destination within a bustling retail environment.
The design brief called for a contemporary space that would offer a warm and comfortable dining experience—an inviting haven where patrons could escape the retail atmosphere and enjoy culinary delights in a refined setting.
To enhance the dining experience, we incorporated a custom water feature that serves both aesthetic and functional purposes. The gentle flowing water creates a soothing auditory backdrop while cleverly defining a more secluded dining zone perfect for accommodating larger groups. This thoughtful element adds an element of tranquility to the space while improving the acoustic quality of the restaurant.
Along the restaurant’s frontage facing Burwood Highway, we designed a strategic bamboo landscape that serves as a natural buffer against traffic noise while maintaining an open, airy feel. This green barrier filters the urban environment without sacrificing natural light, which continues to flood the interior, creating a bright, welcoming atmosphere. The bamboo elements also introduce an organic texture that complements the restaurant’s contemporary design language, forming a seamless connection between indoor comfort and the exterior urban setting.
